The sixteenth edition, in full leather binding of The Lay of the Last Minstrel by Sir Walter Scott.The poem, first published in 1805, is a narrative poem set in sixteenth century Scotland. The narrator is a minstrel, a medieval entertainer such as a juggler, acrobat, or fool. Sir Walter Scott was a Scottish novelist and poet. His work is considered as classic literature and has had a major impact. Gold engravings to the boards and spine and gold fore edge.Includes undated ink inscription from prior owners and name label to the pastedown. In full leather binding. Externally, smart. There is some bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. The leather on the spine is slightly worn. There is some marking to the back board. Internally, firmly bound.
