The very scarce first edition of this work. Printed in Cambridge, Massachusetts, this is the first U.S. edition.Author's presentation copy, inscribed by the author to the recto to the front endpaper; 'Charles Hill Dick from John Buchan Jan 1900'. Author's bookplate to the rear pastedown.In a custom cloth slipcase. Slipcase is fine.'A Lost Lady of Old Years' is a historical fiction novel, set during the 1745 Jacobite Rebellion.Written by John Buchan, a Scottish novelist.Two pages of publisher's adverts to the rear. In the original publisher's cloth binding, in a custom cloth slipcase. Externally, generally smart. Minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. Light fading to the spine. A few light marks to the boards and spine. Rear hinge is starting but firm. Author's inscription to the recto to the front endpaper. Author's bookplate to the rear pastedown. Internally, generally firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean, with just a few odd spots to the first and last few pages. Slipcase is fine. Very Good

Based in the literary city of Bath, our offices are housed in the Eastern Dispensary. Built in 1845, the building originally existed as a charitable institution providing medical care. The building now houses our collection of over twenty thousand books and has five full time members of staff.
