This is an exceptionally maintained Book published in 1904. It is a Biography of William II, the Emperor of Germany. The Author, Marguerite Cunliffe-Owens, remained anonymous and did not include her name anywhere on this Book as she had done with several of her other Books. This Book has 282 pages and 16 illustrations. This Book also includes a signature by Emperor William dated 1903 under his photo in the frontispiece.

In this pamphlet, Judge Leavitt states his reasons (based on historical fact and the Constitution) for his ruling that denied a writ of habeas corpus for the defendant C. L. Vallandigham; leader of the "Peace Democrats," and Supreme Commander of the "Sons of Liberty."

The accused was charged with "mischievous disloyalty" in his opinions and statements; and subsequently arrested at the orders of General Burnside. Lincoln became involved when, in May of 1863, he wrote to Stanton stating that suspension of habeas corpus, as Stanton wanted, would not be necessary in this case.

Very scarce early work containing much ephemera relating to this great man Ebenezer Elliott (17 March 1781 – 1 December 1849) was an English poet, known as the Corn Law rhymer for his leading the fight to repeal the Corn Laws, which were causing hardship and starvation among the poor. Though a factory owner himself, his single-minded devotion to the welfare of the labouring classes won him a sympathetic reputation long after his poetry ceased to be read. Elliott's poems often seem naive or archaic to the modern reader who gets the impression that Elliott is struggling to write verse - the more he wrestles, the worse he becomes! Johann Georg Rosenmüller (18 December 1736 – 14 March 1815), a German Protestant theologian, was born at Ummerstadt in Hildburghausen, on 18 December 1736. He was appointed Professor of Theology at Erlangen in 1773, Primarius Professor of Theology at Erlangen in 1773, Primarius Professor of Divinity at Giessen in 1783, and was called in 1785 to Leipzig, where he remained until his death in 1815.
