G. P. Putnam's Sons, 1896. First Edition. Hardcover. Good. Blue cloth with white titling, decoration to front panel in gilt, yellow and white. Cloth soiled, edgeworn, gently bruised to extremities; faint square shadow at spine. Spine square. Front inner hinge starting; rear FEP missing. Binding else intact, and sound through textblock. Faint remnants of ink transfer at FFEP, as though offset from paper previously laid-in. Occasional thumbing/page-turning smudges in margins, and long white markings across page 141 (do not obscure text). Interior else clean, text unmarked. No jacket; protected in clear plastic dust wrapper.
