An uncommon first edition copy of volume two of Manuel D'Un Cours De Chimie, profusely illustrated with fifteen full page engraved plates. With errata, formula guide and very scarce publisher's advertisements to the rear of the work. Collated complete with fifteen full page engraved plates to the rear of the work. Volume two only. Volume one was published earlier the same year. First edition. Edme-Jean Baptiste Bouillon-Lagrange was a French chemist and pharmacist, who worked as a professor of chemist at the Ecole de pharmacie of Paris and a military chemist during the Napoleonic campaigns. His Manuel D'Un Cours De Chimie is a reworking of a collection of sixty of his lectures, covering a range of topics within the field of chemistry, including metals, alkalies and acids. In a half calf binding with marbled boards. Externally generally smart with rubbing to the boards and extremities, resulting in some slight loss to the leather at the head and tail of the spine. Bookplate and contemporary ink inscription to endpapers. Offsetting to endpapers. Loss to rear free endpaper. Internally firmly bound. Pages generally bright and clean with scattered spotting. Creasing to the first three and last five leaves. Good
