Worcester, MA: Achille J. St. Onge , 1939. One of 950 copies, and one of only four St. Onge titles printed by D. B. Updike at The Merrymount Press. Bound in full black crushed morocco, with gilt rules and lettering, marbled end papers, all edges gilt, ribbon marker. Frontispiece portrait of Emerson, 82 pp. Near Fine, slight rubbing to gilt. "An exhibit of Updike's books in England in 1941 sponsored by the Monotype Corporation Ltd. featured 'Friendship'. The exhibit catalogue referred to this book as 'One of the smallest, almost certainly the most legible and attractive, miniature books ever printed from actual type (not photographically reduced)." The second book published by Achille J. St. Onge. (Bradbury 2, pages 249-252). The last copy seen at auction was in 2007 according to RBH. . Limited Edition. Morocco. Near Fine/No Jacket, As Issued. 2 7/8" x 1 5/8". Miniature.
