Originally published in 1907, this novel is known as one of the earliest examples of alien hand syndrome genre and was adapted into a film of the same name in 1915, now lost. Written by Arthur Train, American lawyer and writer of legal thrillers, particularly known for his novels of courtroom intrigue.Author's presentation copy, inscribed by the author to front free endpaper and dated 1922.Illustrated with full page plates in black and white. In the original publisher's full cloth binding. Externally very smart with minor shelf wear only, bumped to head and tail of spine and extremities, light marks to boards. Author's ink inscription to front free endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright and clean. Very Good Indeed

Based in the literary city of Bath, our offices are housed in the Eastern Dispensary. Built in 1845, the building originally existed as a charitable institution providing medical care. The building now houses our collection of over twenty thousand books and has five full time members of staff.
