He achieved early success for wood cut engravings for book illustrations before moving on to painting and art criticism. No dust wrapper present. In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, very smart. There is some bumping to the head and tail of the spine. The front hinge is starting but firm. Internally, firmly bound.
