London: William Heinemann, 1896. First edition. Cloth. Very Good. 7.5" by 5". None. Henry James' enticing and exciting murder mystery novel, 'The Other House', Volume I being a first edition. Complete in two volumes. Volume I is the first edition, and Volume II is the second edition. Scarcely found together as two volumes. With a half title to each volume. Volume I with thirty-two pages of publisher's adverts to the rear. Volume II with thirty-two pages of publisher's adverts to the rear. 'The Other House' is novel set in England, the plot surrounding a murder. The novel was originally serialised in 'The Illustrated London News' in 1896. Written by Henry James, a nineteenth century American novelist. He is considered to be a key figure in the transition between literary realism and literary modernism. He is often considered to be one of the greatest novelist in the English language. In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, generally smart. Light marks to the boards and spines, a little heavier to Volume II. Minor bumping to the head and tail of the spines and to the extremities. Front hinges are strained but remains firm. Internally, generally firmly bound. Pages are lightly age-toned and generally clean with the odd spot. Very Good
