About This Item

This is a rare collection of two volumes of "THE PIRATE PIECE 304 F.A." which was the monthly newsletter of the 304th field artillery battalion. The volumes contain 119 issues (starting at Vol. 1 No. 1) from 1921 to 1931. Each issue contains four pages (with the exception of April 1926 which contains 8 pages). The April 1930 issue has a supplemental four-page "Tenth Anniversary Pictorial Review" section with numerous sepia-toned photographs.

VOLUME 1-5 (59 issues):

1925 (12 issues): January - December.
1926 (3 issues): January - March.

VOLUME 6-10 (60 issues):

1928 (12 issues): January - December.
1929 (12 issues): January - December.
1930 (12 issues): January - December.
1931 (3 issues): January - March.

Condition:
Darkening to the cloth along the outer edges of the covers and spines. There are a couple small stains at the left edge of the Vol. 1-5 front cover. Tiny cloth tears at the cover corners. Both volumes are tightly bound with no loose pages - all covers and all issues are firmly in place. The pages are in overall excellent condition with only some ink finger smudges at the outer edge of some of the 1930 issues. One page in the March 1927 issue has a small piece missing at the outer edge. A large, velvet ribbon page marker was left between the December 1928 and January 1929 issues, leaving a tanned outline at the inner page edges by the spine. Overall the volumes are in Very Good condition.
