George Crabbe's poetical works in one volume, edited with a biographical sketch of his life by his son. A new edition featuring a frontispiece portrait and additional vignette title page. Known as a poet for his early use of realistic narrative form and his descriptions of middle and working-class life. Containing some of his most well-known poems including 'The Village,' 'The Borough,' and his poetry collections 'Tales' and 'Tales of the Hall' among many others. Prize binding inscribed in Latin to Gulielmo Waterfild for poetics in 1850. In full calf binding with five raised bands and gilt tooling to spine, gilt blind stamp to boards, marbled edges and endpapers. Externally very smart with minor shelf wear, minor rubbing to spine and extremities, spine sunned. Internally, firmly bound. Light minor spotting affecting first and last few leaves, otherwise pages bright and clean. With a frontispiece and additional vignette title page. Very Good

Based in the literary city of Bath, our offices are housed in the Eastern Dispensary. Built in 1845, the building originally existed as a charitable institution providing medical care. The building now houses our collection of over twenty thousand books and has five full time members of staff.
