Just over ten years ago, I came across a first edition of this book in my father's library. At the time I was desiring to draw closer in my walk with the Lord and this book so warmed my heart that I pick it up and read it again and again. Since being introduced to Octavius Winslow, I have read everything else I can find of his. I find his works doctrinally sound even while being extremely devotional. Winslow was a contemporary with Charles Spurgeon, and was even asked to take part in the dedication of the Metropolitan Tabernacle.I am now wanting to purchase copies for my friends.
