New York: Prof. Rohrer's Institute of Beauty Culture, (1924). First edition. Octavo (9.25" x 6.25"), 80 pages, illustrated throughout (some in color). Publisher's gray cloth-patterned paper over boards backed in maroon paper, lettered & decorated in gilt.
Binding moderately rubbed & soiled, stain in the margin from the front pastedown diminishing through page 7 (not affecting text), otherwise good or better.
A splendid treatise presenting the history & techniques of hairdressing. Includes 5 pages of advertisements & 2 unused pages for "Memoranda."
A portrait of Rohrer following the table of contents presents his credentials, apparently supplied by himself:
"World Famed Beauty Culture Teacher and Authority, Licensed Podiatrist, Registered by the State of New York. Member of the New York Ladies' Hairdressers Association, Member of the National Hairdressers Association."
