About This Item
Woodstock, VT: James Barrett, ND.. Autograph letter by the Hon. James Barrett (1814 -1900), Vermont lawyer and politician who served as Justice of the Vermont Supreme Court and President of the Vermont State Senate, recommending General Stephen Thomas for the office of pension agent for the state of Vermont. Undated, but mentions "the recent war," so most likely 1865 -1880. (The letter gives the place of origin as Woodstock, which Barrett left after 1880.) Letter has been folded, and retains a strong vertical crease, but is in Very Good condition; the paper is only slightly age-toned and has not deteriorated along the folds.
