About This Item

Paperback. Good. Routledge & Kegan Paul, London, 1961 reprint of the first publication of 1927; B-format PB, pp [xv], 283; covers a little dust marked but a good copy of Malinowski's critique of psycholanalysis drawing on his anthropological field work among the Trobriand islanders and elsewhere, arguing that contrary to Freud's view it's power and not sexual jealousy which is the source of Oedipal conflict in non-Western societies and that psychosexual development varies across different societies.
