London: John Murray, 1905. 6th Edition . Hardcover. Good. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. See photos for condition details. Hardcover, brown cloth boards show some scuffing and spotting, corners mildly bumped/worn. The reason for the low condition grade is because the rear hinge is cracked and the front hinge is starting to crack spots. If the hinge cracks were not present the book would grade as VG to VG+. The interior pages are toned due to age with the end pages and pastedowns being quite darkened and a bit brittle. The title page is also quite dark due to reacting with the end pages. There are no signatures or bookplates, no library markings, no handwriting found. The large foldout map in the back of the book is present and attached and appears to be in very good condition with no tears or anything like that. A couple of pages had a lower corner fold to where they were all folded together. This has been straightened out but the crease is still present. Most of the pages just somewhat toned and can be compared to the photo with the map in the quote from La Fontaine. Only the title page and end pages are dark brown.

Purchases will ship by US Media Mail or Priority Mail (if buyer selects) and higher priced items may have insured placed on the order and will typically ship within one business day. Additional postage may be required for multiple volume books or books weighing over 5 lbs., but only in unusual cases. Insurance is available upon request though we normally place insurance on any item of $75 or higher at no additional cost to the buyer. Non-US sales will ship by First Class International or Global Priority. Additional postage may be required for multiple volume books or books weighing over 4 lbs.
We always take extra care in packaging and shipping. Books are typically wrapped in packing paper or bubblewrap before packaged in a sturdt shipping box. All orders, even those shipped by US Media Mail, will be given a USPS tracking number which will be sent to the buyer so they will know when to expect arrival. Please let us know if there is a book with incorrect or missing photos. We recently moved the inventory to Biblio and a title or two may have had issues with the photos being transferred over.
Yesterday's Book shop is owned and operated by a disabled veteran. Due to my limitations, I often have to rely on speech-to-text software to list the books. If the description has typos ("and pages" instead of "end pages", pace downs instead of pastedowns, guilt instead of gilt, etc,) PLEASE let me know so I can correct the listing. The software spells words by phonetics and can make errors that I may not catch.

Yesterday's Book Shop is an independent, family-owned establishment. The store first opened in 1966 under the name Collector's Corner and was located in Western Maryland. The Collector's Corner dealt mainly in books but also sold stamps and assorted ephemera. In 1975 the name was changed to Yesterday's Book Shop when the store only offered books and printed matter. In the early 2000s the brick and mortar store was closed and now we only sell online.
