A vivid descriptive history of the Hawaiian islands, with chapters on Captain James Cook, Kahuilaokalani, the Kamehamehas, Liliuokalani, surfing history, and more. The first edition of this work. Written by Albert Pierce Taylor, an American archivist and expert in the field of Hawaiian history. A presentation copy from the author, signed and inscribed in ink to the front free-endpaper, dated 1925. Illustrated with fifty-four plates. Collated and complete. In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, smart, with some shelf wear and a small amount of fading to the cloth, particularly at the extremities. Light bumping to the head and tail of the spine and extremities. Signed and inscribed in ink by the author to the front free-endpaper. Internally, front hinge is lightly strained. Remaining binding is firm. Pages are bright and clean. Very Good
