The first edition. In the original unclipped dust wrapper. William Saroyan was an Armenian-American novelist, playwright, and short story writer. He was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for Drama in 1940 and won the Academy Award for Best Story for the film The Human Comedy in 1943.Many of his stories and plays are set in his native Fresno. This collection includes A Writer's Declaration, The Home of The Human Race, The Play that Got Away, and A Visitor in the Piano Warehouse. In the original publisher's cloth in the original unclipped dust wrapper. Externally smart. Marginal age toning to the dust wrapper. A small hole and mark on the centre of the spine on the dust wrapper which has transferred to the boards. The boards are bright and clean. Internally firmly bound. The pages are bright and clean. Based in the literary city of Bath, our offices are housed in the Eastern Dispensary. Built in 1845, the building originally existed as a charitable institution providing medical care. The building now houses our collection of over twenty thousand books and has five full time members of staff.
