This is a richly illustrated copy of Wild Sports and Natural History of the Highlands, written by Charles St John and with an introduction and notes by Sir Herbert Maxwell. The volume considers the Highland Lakes, Poaching in the Highlands, Salmon-Fishing, Wild Geese and fox-hunting in the Highland. The volume is illustrated with pictures from G. Denholm Armour and Ewdin Alexander. With thirty-nine plate illustrations, with twenty-eight in colour. Collate, complete. In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, smart, the spine is a little faded and bumped and there are some marks to the boards. There is a bookplate to front free endpaper. The rear hinge is starting but remains firm. Internally, generally firmly bound with bright and clean pages. Very Good
