Burbank, CA: Warner Brothers, 1963. Final script for the 1964 film.

Based on Herman Wouk's 1962 novel. Youngblood Hawke (Franciscus) is a Kentucky truck driver who comes to New York City to start a career as a writer. He meets editor Jeanne Green (Pleshette), who falls for him while putting together a book deal. Throughout his first three books, his hops from woman to woman and book deal to book deal, including a Broadway adaptation, and an affair with a woman whose jealous husband intends to destroy Hawke. He returns to Kentucky to work on writing, contracts pneumonia, and realizes that Jeanne was the only woman he truly loved.

Set in Kentucky and New York, shot on location in New York.

Self wrappers, noted as FINAl on the front wrapper, dated February 15, 1963, with credits for screenwriter Daves and novelist Wouk. Title page integral with front wrapper DATE. 160 leaves, with last page of text numbered 157. Mimeograph on eye-rest green stock. Near Fine overall, bound with two gold brads.
