FINE but: lower tips bumped, spine label w tiny chip. FINE inside. 8vo, 133pp. . Nichols enlisted in 1862 as a private & became a Lt. with the 37th Regiment, Mass Volunteers, the Army of the Potomac. FINE inside, ZERO aging, foxing, soiling, etc. Not even any glue browned pastedown gutter lines. Never read as many uncut & unopened pages. ep maps. His letters are separated by a brief summary of the pertinent events that occurred between letters. The letter he wrote on the day of Lee's surrender is included in facsimile. .
