This broadside map shows the cities, towns, stores, plantations, mills, academies, etc. along the Mississippi River from St. Louis southward through Memphis, continuing through Vicksburg, and ending at the Gulf of Mexico. It was filmed in 1992 for the Ray Bradbury Theater television series. Bradbury, author of Fahrenheit 451 and The Martian Chronicles, is one of America's most celebrated science fiction, fantasy and horror writers. In this story, an American author visits a Dublin pub where he is caught up in the excitement over a local sporting event known as "anthem sprinting." Runners compete to see who can exit the theater fastest during the few seconds between the end of a film and the start of the Irish National Anthem.
