London & Canada: The London Printing & Lithographing Company Limited, 1943. 1st Edition . Soft cover. Good/No Jacket. Folio - over 12 - 15" tall. Judy Varga. A first edition of one of the earliest books on the RAF phenomenon known as Gremlins. Well illustrated with colour plates showing the different types of these mythical creatures and the ensuing havoc they can cause. Thought to be the influence behind Roald Dahl's book on the same subject this copy is generally in Very Good condition but has lost the top right hand corner of the front wrap which is also a little soiled. Title page inscribed to a previous owner. The staples have rusted and caused the wraps to become detached. The book has been stitched to compensate for this problem. A first edition of one of the earliest books on the RAF phenomenon known as Gremlins.

This is an extensively illustrated souvenir of the procession held in celebration of Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee. Created by staff at the Graphic and Daily Graphic the majority of illustrations consist of groups of soldiers from around the Empire. Created to raise funds for the Prince of Wales Hospital Fund for London the book also contains a page in which supporters were encouraged to stick in special commemorative stamps in aid of the charity. This copy has two stamps tipped in -one for 1/- and another for 2/6d. Generally very good, a little loose within the binding and with the occasional light fingering to plates. Bound in blue cloth which is faded to spine and top board with the date printed in gilt to top board, A.E.G.

This is a jigsaw published in the Raphael Tuck "Zag-Zaw" series in which a postcard designed by the military artist Harry Payne has been cut up in about 35 pieces. Boxed in its original printed red card box with label to base and with original packing slip enclosed. The puzzle is complete and has been protected by modern clingfilm to keep all the pieces in place. Some water staining to corner of base of box and the box is worn.
