Streicher, smeared as the 'King of Nuremberg' by political opponents, founded his sensationalist newspaper 'Der Stürmer' in the city, joined the Nuremberg City Council in 1925, then served Gauleiter of Franconia (headquartered in Nuremberg) from 1929 to 1940.
Julius Sebastian Streicher (12 February 1885 – 16 October 1946) was a German publicist, politician and convicted war criminal.
