Seeley, London, 1892 . Plates and illustrations. 8vo (7 3/4 x 5 1/4 inches), 295-pages. Contemporary fuill tan calf, sides gilt ruled enclosing the arms in gilt of Rugby School, Spine gilt in compartments and on raised bands, with green lettering piece, all edges marbled. Band of fading at head of upper cover, some spotting but overall very good. Prize inscription on front free endpaper.

Cambridge: at the University Press, 1903. Limited edition, one of 250 copies. Small 4to, pp. 128, original quarter vellum, velum lettering piece to upper cover, as issued, uncut. A very nice copy indeed in the original plain d.w. and enclosed in the original cardboard box with printed label to the lid. Tears to plain d.w., box edge rubbed and with label browned. Rare thus.

Not published. Anon. Actually writen by J. E. C. & P. F. Early & inscribed to M.W.Early. The stated authors of course alluding to Gilbert & Sulivan. 8vo (8 x 5 1/4 inches), 108-pages. Plain cloth over boards. "The Authors desire to give a few words of Introduction...the first opera, "The Smugglers' Lair" is a humble skit on Gilbert's admirable opera "The Pirates of Penzance".....the 2nd play a playful skit on on some of the adventures of Aeneas......of the two plays, the first is a fantasy and an attempt to portray the world in the grips of a machine.....the 2nd derived from Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's.....Valley of Fear...."etc.

Birmingham: Institution of Mechanical Engineers, 1870. 10 plates, 8vo, pp.227-257, original printed tan wrappers; backstrip dusty, the wrappers very clean. The other paper being Description of a Wire-Rope at the Landore Steel Works for conveying materials across a navigable stream by William Hackney.

London: Rivington, 1848. First edition. Folding plates. 8vo (8 3/4 x 5 3/4 inches), pages: xxii:ii:397. Full contemporary Divinity calf lettered direct, all edges red. Very good.

for J. Knapton, London 1731. Part 2 1732. 8vo (7 x 4 1/8 inches). Both parts unpaginated( but ca. 500-pages in total). Contemporary full dark polished calf, spine gilt within raised bands, burgundy lettering piece. Base of spine very chipped, upper fore-corner of upper cover gnawed away. Early inscriptions on front endpapers, signature on title and ink marks and a crease. Lower and upper damp tide mark to the first 10 leaves.

[1941] An original War Office official photograph, 9 1/2 x 7 1/2 inches, label to reverse "Mr Eden's Visit to Ehypt. The Secretary of State having a joke with men in the Desert" - "Not to be published before the evening papers on Monday, November 11th". The image meaning can easily be misconstrued. Could Sir Anthony be saying "Well what do you think of this Chaps?" The reply being "Oh please Sir, do put it away!". Small chip in lower margin.

London: Dean & Co. n.d. c. 1840. 7 hand-coloured plates with facing text. 8vo (8 1/8 x 6 1/2 inches), original pictorial yellow wrappers; lower & upper wrappers worn & soiled and with tears with old repairs of applied paper, the tears affecting the coloured plates to the reverse of each wrapper. Some margins strengthened. Re-spined with grained skiver in 1891 when this, together with 20 other children's books of c. 1840's were bound together in one volume. Not a very good copy but very rare; only 1 copy cited by Copac (V & A Museum). Anon.

London: Dean & Co. c. 1840. 6 hand-coloured plates with facing text. 8vo (8 x 6 5/8 inches). Original blue pictorial wrappers. Repaired tear to lower cover. Rear wrapper with advertisements for 13 Uncle Buncle's "Original Toy Books" & 13 titles of Dame Wonder's "Curious Transformations". A few early paper tape repairs. Re-spined with grained skiver in 1891 when this, together with 20 other children's books of c. 1840's were bound together in one volume. Anon. Very rare. No copy cited by Copac.

The wrapper soiled, creased and torn with old repairs of paper tape, a number of leaves with old re-margining, some old repairs with paper tape. Re-spined with grained skiver in 1891 when this, together with 20 other children's books of c. 1840's were bound together in one volume. Anon. Only two copies cited on Copac.

London: Readers Library, n.d. [ 1927 ]. Small 8vo, pp. 251, original gilt decorated cloth; very good indeed in like d.w. The d.w. with quarter-inch edge tear. As often with the "Readers Library" there is some toning of the text .

Chipping to calf of lower upper joint, some rubbing and scuffing to lower cover; overall good. Very heavy, extra overseas postage will be requested.

Mounting stub to lower margin, holed where seal removed but not affecting text. With address panel, this signed "Kent and Strathearn" The writer identified in another early hand and dated 1810 on the reverse." Dear Frederick, Should you not intend making use of you box for the Oratorio tomorrow night (the 21st) would you have the goodness to indulge me with an order for it: if you can gain it, only send me the card....." etc. With footnote "Pray excuse the paper, as it is the only half sheet I happen to have in my dressing room".
