Rome: Gherado Casini Editore, 1955. Green Cloth. Very Good. 4to - over 9¾" - 12" Large. Type: Z 119pp followed by 35 b/w illustrative plates. There are 20 coloured plates tipped onto the pages, supporting the text which is in Italian. The boards are slightly bowed and there is a light bump to the front edge of the spine strip. Slight fading to the spine and two corners are slightly bumped. There is the slightest of niks to the cloth at the tail of the spine - barely noticeable. No wrapper. Slight foxing to the fore edges and paste downs. The textblock is clean and tight. A very good copy.

Numerous of wonderful Vogue covers illustrated in colour with some accompanying text. Light shelf wear and slight edge wear in places to the card covers. A couple of very fine closed splits to the outer paper - towards the head of the spine - probably done in the manufacturing process. A light crease to the extreme lower corner of the front card cover. A very good copy.

Original publisher's orange cloth - gilt embossed to the spine. No other inscriptions. The slightest of bowing to the boards - quite normal with this type of binding. The jacket has not been price-clipped; it has uniform fading to the spine and to the edges of the front panel and to both flaps. Slight rubbing to the tail of the spine. Slight rubbing to several corners.

Foxing to the upper fore edges - the textblock is internally clean and tight. Dust wrapper is not price clipped. There is some fading to the spine and rear panel of the wrapper. There are a couple of slight niks/ tears to the head of the wrapper - no loss. Light shelf wear to the wrapper. A very good minus copy.

Type: Autograph Letter A hand written note/letter in black ink dated June 24, 1915 on offical Buckingham Palace letterhead embossed with a red royal crest to the head to a Lady Mary ? commanding her by Her Majesty the Queen to send payment to a Wilkie and Kennedy over £33 for a staggering large number of socks and pyjamas 'with which her majesty was much pleased'. The note is not signed so it may or may not have been written by the queen. Sold as not written by the Queen but instead by a royal aid. The letter has been creased along the middle. It is attached to a contemporaneous mount from which it has pulled a little at the head and the tail causing slight creasing.

Original publisher's blue cloth - gilt embossed to the spine and a paper onlay to the front board. 8 marvellous colour plates after Maxfield Parrish including a tissue-guarded frontispiece - all as called for. Original publisher's finely ribbed blue cloth. Leading edge - rough cut. Light bumps to the head and tail and bumps to a couple of corners - none particularly heavy. Some rubbing head and tail of the spine and to several board corners. Slight splitting to the front inner hinge and something similar to the rear hinge with some webbing exposed. A light crease to the lower corner of the front endpaper. Light staining with tide marks to the lower margins of several plates including the frontispiece and the tissue-guard. Significant rubbing to the front paper overlay. Over all a very good copy.

A signed presentation copy in black ink to the title page. The inscription reads, 'To Bet - Merry Christmas 2004 Michael Palin'. The front panel of the wrapper has a publisher's signed by the author circular sticker. The head and tail of the spine is a little bumped with a slight associated crease to the overlying wrapper. No other inscriptions. The wrapper has not been price-clipped - it has a 4mm very short tear to the head of the front flap, which has been expertly repaired and is bearly noticable.
