New York: New Directions, 1952. First US Edition/First Printing. Hardcover. Very Good/Good. Assumed First Edition and Printing with no date. In black cloth boards and red cloth to spine with gilt. Just a little wear at corners which are still relatively sharp and some fading to spine ends. Previous owner's name in pencil to ffep and tiny spot to rear pastedown, otherwise clean with just some light toning. Binding tight. Tears to bottom corners of several pages which were not cut well at printer - otherwise Near Fine. Jacket is unclipped ($3.75) with correct price as first printing. Small chips at corners, head of spine, top of rear panel and top of front flap. Some edge nicks and short tears with small puncture to front panel adjacent spine. A few tiny pencil erasure marks to jacket and light scuffing. Cover design by Alvin Lustig and George Barrows.
