Folio (14" x 11"), xix, 311, & [1] pages plus 127 plates of which 27 are in color. Publisher's bevel edged blue cloth lettered & decorated in gilt Top edge gilt, the others uncut
Binding moderately soiled, rubbed & spotted, previous owner's partially whited out name & address at front pastedown, sporadic minor foxing mostly at endpapers & pastedowns, rear hinge just started, a good or better copy.
An exhaustive & beautifully illustrated account, author George Woolliscroft Rhead is perhaps best known as the designer of Queen Mary's coronation fan in 1911 .
