New York: Harper & Brothers Publishers, 1874. First US Edition . Hardcover. Good+. 12mo - over 6¾ - 7¾" tall. See photos for condition details. Hardcover, brick red cloth boards with black and gilt design. Edges and corners show bumping and wear, cloth finish show spotting and soiling, spine is sunned page exterior is darkened. Binding is good and tight and pages are toned. First us edition thus with single date of 1874 appearing on the title and copyright page, though the title page does state "photographically reported and revised". Front pastedown contains two bookplates, one from E. R. Donehoo and the second from Geo. P. Donehoo. (George P. Donehoo, 1862-1934, was a noted Pennsylvania author, Dr. Elijah Ramsey Donehoo was his father). Only handwriting found in book is on the rear pastedown, upper left corner, where there's a small "2," written in pencil. A few scattered pages have small fractional edge chips and tears and minor foxing is present. Rear end page and pastedown shows a oil-like dark spot along the bottom edge.

Purchases will ship by US Media Mail or Priority Mail (if buyer selects) and higher priced items may have insured placed on the order and will typically ship within one business day. Additional postage may be required for multiple volume books or books weighing over 5 lbs., but only in unusual cases. Insurance is available upon request though we normally place insurance on any item of $75 or higher at no additional cost to the buyer. Non-US sales will ship by First Class International or Global Priority. Additional postage may be required for multiple volume books or books weighing over 4 lbs.
We always take extra care in packaging and shipping. Books are typically wrapped in packing paper or bubblewrap before packaged in a sturdt shipping box. All orders, even those shipped by US Media Mail, will be given a USPS tracking number which will be sent to the buyer so they will know when to expect arrival. Please let us know if there is a book with incorrect or missing photos. We recently moved the inventory to Biblio and a title or two may have had issues with the photos being transferred over.
Yesterday's Book shop is owned and operated by a disabled veteran. Due to my limitations, I often have to rely on speech-to-text software to list the books. If the description has typos ("and pages" instead of "end pages", pace downs instead of pastedowns, guilt instead of gilt, etc,) PLEASE let me know so I can correct the listing. The software spells words by phonetics and can make errors that I may not catch.

Yesterday's Book Shop is an independent, family-owned establishment. The store first opened in 1966 under the name Collector's Corner and was located in Western Maryland. The Collector's Corner dealt mainly in books but also sold stamps and assorted ephemera. In 1975 the name was changed to Yesterday's Book Shop when the store only offered books and printed matter. In the early 2000s the brick and mortar store was closed and now we only sell online.
