Published in a numbered edition of 100 copies - this out of series. Generally in very good condition with rubbing to hinges. Ex libris Geoffrey Callender the naval historian and first Director of the National Maritime Museum. Tipped in at the rear is a slim, signed pamphlet by Powell on Bristol ships in 1571 & 1572. Callendar notes, at rear that this book was remaindered in 1933.

A book on the subject of the Pearl (unsurprisingly) illustrated with 10 coloured plates by Edmund Dulac. Quarter bound with grey boards and white cloth spine, TEG. The top board is decorated with a maritime theme of shells and waves. Limited to 675 copies this copy is, internally, in very good condition with boards that are a trifle scuffed with a rubbed spine (see photos). Two pages have neat pencil annotations. Uncommon.

A very good copy of this classic history of the World Famous yachting race. Appears to have been recased, with new endpapers in Quarter binding with marbelled boards and leather spine with title label tipped on to spine. Illustrated in monochrome and with chromolithographs. This is number 497 from a numbered edition of 3000 copies - this one presented to Linton Hope & Co - the British Yacht Designers. Collated complete but with some minor water staining to the fore-edges of pages 181-199, not affecting text (see photos) and a tear to the corner of page 9 without loss. T.E.G. At 3.2Kg this is a large and heavy book that might require a modification to the shipping charge if it is to be sent outside the UK. Trustees of Ramsgare Harbour, 1792. No Binding. Very Good/No Jacket. Folio - over 12 - 15" tall. This is a four page publication, from the acting trustees of Ramsgate Harbour, that summarises the development of the harbour, with John Smeatons assistance, and seeks support for amendments to the appropriate acts of parliament in order to complete it. The trustees have extended an advanced pier from the East Head in order to improve the harbour to permit a safer refuge for ships in distress. There is also an annual, and increasing, count of ships that have taken shelter from 1780 to 1791. An uncommon publication of 4 pages with one copy in the UK and one copy in the USA. Slightly dusty but generally in very good condition with three horizontal fold marks. ESTC citation T74422

Arbroath: Arbroath Herald. Hardcover. Very Good/No Jacket. 8vo - 6" X 4. A day by day passenger's detailed account of a 111 day voyage, via Cape Horn, between San Francisco and Liverpool. "Red Lichties" is the name given to people born in Arbroath - so called because Arbroath Harbour was the only harbour to have red lights. The voyage starts on 27 February 1890 and ends on June 18. Uncommon - not found in COPAC and only 2 copies found in the USA with Worldcat. Very good in original leather boards with a modern respine and new endpapers. Gilt title within nautical vignette to top board. A.E.G. Frontispiece engraving of ship "Sierra Parima" which was wrecked with the loss of all hands in 1896 in the Maldives.
