Purkyne (or Purkinje as usually anglicised) (1787-1869) was a pioneer Czech physiologist/ neurologist especially concerned wiht what would now be called physiological psychology', especially in relation to perception. A most intriguing document actually reporting the proceedings of a fully Nazified (see 1st ill.) international aeronautics conference organized by the Lilienthal Institute and held in Berlin 12-15 October 1938. The first paper is by E. Heinkel himself, and among those participating are people from the U.S. Langley Memorial Aeronautical Laboratory, The Royal Aeronautical Establishment at Farnborough U.K., the French Air Ministry, Rolls-Royce, Transcontinental & Western Air Inc., Sikorsky Aircraft, Conn. An exposure of how Roland Hill gained the credit for inventing the modern postage stamp when its previous locally documented invention by Dundee-based James Chalmers clearly establishes his priority, with Hill's removal of Chalmers's correspondence from H.M. Frazer's dates were 1854-1941, this book thus appeared the year before his death.
