Original b/w photograph from Bell Aircraft Corporation with their stamp on the back of the photo: showing chief test pilot, USAF General Frank Everest (1920-2004), beside Bell Aircraft experimental 'X-2 rocket plane' at Edwards Air Force Base, where in July,1956, had reached Mach 2.9 at 60,000 feet. Everest became known as "the fastest man alive" and continued with an active and honoured Air Force career until retirement in 1973. The photo appears to have been trimmed top and bottom, else a fine example.

New York: United Press Photos, 1957. Single Photograph. Vg. 7 x 9 Inches. Single b/w photograph from United Press, New York, 1957, showing two views of Leland Bryan's second prototype flying car. The second prototype, a single-seater, was based on an Erco Ercoupe aircraft with a stretched midsection with the engine positioned in the rear. This prototype clocked 80 hours of flight time and covered 4,000 miles (6,427 kilometres) on the ground, with air speed up to 90 mph and ground speed of 60 mph. Photo has typewritten caption on the back along with the United Press stamp. Pinholes at the corners with very light creasing from gentle handling.

Large, unframed, single b/w matted photo of a 1934 De Havilland 80A Puss Moth fitted with Skis.(CF-AVA) Information from the Canadian Civil Aircraft Register, indicates that this aircraft was owned and operated by the Consolidated Mining and Smelting Company (C.M.& S. - Cominco Ltd) until August, 1936. Other printed info on the back of the photo states that this was taken on a flight from Trail to Rossland, January 31, 1935, with amateur photographer and airplane mechanic, Doug W. Burt as the photographer and Jim Warren, pilot. According to the CCAR, this aircraft changed ownership four times and was WFU (withdrawn from use) in 1942 due to wartime restrictions, and was found in storage in Kelowna, B.C. in 1950. Since then it has resurfaced after meticulous restoration; appearing in the 2010s at fly-ins with its original blue and orange Cominco livery.(from Canavbooks website) Photo is taped to the matting on the back.…

France: WWI French Aviation, 1917. Vintage Postcards. Fine. 5.5 X 3.5 Inches. Four (4) non postmarked, unused, divided back, Real Photo, French Aviation Postcards from about 1917 in fine condition. Photographer unknown. The photos depict the crashes of 2 different aircraft. Both are Bréguet 14's; a French biplane bomber and reconnaissance aircraft of World War I. Designed by aviation pioneer and aeronautical engineer Louis Bréguet, factory production started in March, 1917 following trials and test flights of prototypes.Two of these photos could be from the test flight period but the two photos with men gathered around clearly shows the side markings of a bomber and the empty machine gun turret cage on top, indicating that this aircraft had been armed at one time and not in test flight mode.(?) Sold as a set of four.

Original b/w News Service photograph of the Goodyear Inflatoplane; an inflatable, experimental aircraft made for the Office of Naval Research by the Goodyear Aircraft Company, a subsidiary of Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company. Photo shows the aircraft in flight over the Akron, Ohio test area. A total of 12 prototypes were built between 1956 and 1959, and testing continued until 1972, when the project was finally cancelled. Goodyear donated two Inflatoplanes; one to the Franklin Institute in Philadelphia, and one to the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C. Typewritten caption attached to the back of the photo. King Hussein of Jordan about to step into the cockpit of a Vampire Aircraft of the Royal Jordanian Air Force at an airfield near Amman recently. The King, who is very keen on flying, often visits one of his Air Force bases just for the thrill of piloting one of the jet fighters." Hussein (1935-1999) was King of Jordan from 1952 till his death in 1999. The Vampire jet fighter is a British made de Havilland.
