Description:
London: Collins, 1962. First edition of this early instructional by the legendary golfer. Octavo, original cloth. Boldly signed by the author in a contemporary hand on the front free endpaper, "With Very Best Wishes Gary Player." Very good in the original dust jacket that shows some wear to the crown. Gary Player is widely regarded as one of the greatest players in the history of golf. Over his career, Player accumulated nine major championships on the regular tour and six Champions Tour major championship victories, as well as three Senior British Open Championships on the European Senior Tour. At the age of 29, Player won the 1965 U.S. Open and became the only non-American to win all four majors, known as the career Grand Slam. Player became only the third golfer in history to win the Career Grand Slam, following Ben Hogan and Gene Sarazen, and only Jack Nicklaus and Tiger Woods have performed the feat since.

Description:
London: Collins, 1948. First Edition. Hardcover. Very good/Very good. With Illustrations by Elinor Darwin. London: Collins, 1948. First edition. The grandson of British naturalist Charles Darwin, Bernard Darwin (1876-1961) was an accomplished amateur golfer who covered the sport for The Times from 1907 to 1953 and for Country Life from 1907 to 1961, becoming the first writer ever to cover golf on a daily basis, rather than as an occasional feature. He was inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame in 2005. In the twenty-nine essays in this collection, Darwin elaborates on such varied topics as his boyhood attachment to tin soldiers, his "fundamentalist's" faith in Sherlockiana, his affection for small railroad junctions situated thrillingly close to some favorite golf links, the "restful excitement" of watching a cricket match, and the pleasures of a day spent in bed. Signed by Darwin on the title page. Octavo. Original gray cloth binding, with gilt titles. The spine is touch sun faded. Some light… Read more

Description:
NY: Conde Nast, 1933-36, 1933. Folios. 18 issues: 1933 -- January, February, August, September, October and December. 1934 -- October. 1935 -- January, April through December. 1936 -- January. All but one issue (October 1934) contain articles by Robert T. Jones, Jr. (Bobby Jones). Overall, the condition of these large fragile magazines is very good or better, with the following exceptions: August 1933 the covers are partially separated (but present); October 1934 there is a faint damp stain in the rear; April and May 1935 the covers are detached but present and July 1935 there is a large chip rear cover. Four issues have an ad neatly excised (not affecting text or photographs). These magazines were profusely illustrated with photographs, and many issues contain substantial pieces on women's golf. They have all become scarce, especially those issues with classic articles by Bobby Jones.. 1st Edition. Soft cover. Very Good.

Description:
A Reissued & revamped sixth Edition – 1901 Hutchinson at his BEST American golf teaching professional Mike Stevens said of Hutchinson, "In my mind, there is no question that Horace Hutchinson was a teacher extraordinaire and is clearly the father of golf instruction". Walter Travis, in 1904—shortly after his victories in the 1903 U.S. Amateur and 1904 British Amateur—said of Hutchinson: 'All things considered, the golfer whom I most admired as a player was Horace Hutchinson. Over here we have read so many of his books and spoken of him so long as a veteran that one is surprised to find he is only forty-seven years old. He plays every shot for what it is worth and in perfect style, as free as any supple youth, and, all told, I pronounce him, to my mind, the ideal golfer'.
Horatio Gordon "Horace" Hutchinson (16 May 1859 – 27 July 1932) was an English amateur golfer who played in the late 19th century and early 20th century. Hutchinson won the 1886 and 1887 Amateur Championships. He had three… Read more
