The hinges and caps of the book have been strenghthened with thin goatskin which blends beautifully and this repair incl new tan endpapers. The spines are sturdy but are mainly the original calf in appearance. Im not certain of the technque of the repair but the volumes are both easily accessed at this point and the hinges are strong.
