This is a 7th printing of the 1st edition by Chilton Book Company from 1965. There were nine such printings of that 1st edition. The book is in Fine Condition. The dustjacket is in Good Condition with slight edge wear and the price clipped from the upper corner. Frank Herbert has autographed the title page. We could only find one copy of this at auction in the past 50 years and only three in libraries. Of the three copies in libraries, two of them lack the 3rd volume. Full contemporary calf. Both volumes with green and red morocco spine labels, lettered in gilt. Board edges stamped in blind. Previous owner's bookplate and old ink signature on front pastedown of each volume. Minor dampstaining to front blanks of volume I. Some general scuffing and rubbing to boards. Some light toning, mainly to endpapers. Overall very good. HBS 68661. $2,500.

Comes with the rare first issue dust jacket that depicts Harry Potter without glasses. Only a few hundred copies were printed with this first issue dust jacket, and were soon corrected and issued with the second issue dust jacket with glasses. Major defects: The dust jacket has a short cut along the folded edge of the front flap. The dust jacket is gently used with tiny creases along the top and bottom edges of the spine.
